Gift & Donation Policy
The Baxter Memorial Library encourages the donation of books and non-book materials and the donation of money and other assets to enhance library resources.
Gifts of miscellaneous books or other materials are accepted with the understanding that items that are not added to the Library’s collection will be disposed of at the discretion of the Library Director or a designee. Most items that are not added to the collection will be used in the Library’s annual book sale.
Unconditional monetary gifts are always welcome. The Library, at the discretion of the Library Director and/or the Board of Library Trustees, may refuse monetary gifts that are given under conditions that are unacceptable or impossible for the Library to meet.
Gifts of art, furniture, special collections and other real property will be accepted at the discretion of the Library Director and, where appropriate, the Board of Trustees.
